Inaugural Song Competition!

We’re thrilled to announce the first-ever Go Compose North America Song Competition! This is your chance to flex your creative muscles and compose an original song.

About the Competition

The competition is open to all ages, with five categories:

  • Ages 6-10
  • Ages 11-13
  • Ages 14-17 (High school seniors who are 18 can enter this category)
  • Adults 18+ (Amateur)
  • College and graduate music students 18+

Participants are invited to compose a song for voice and piano or unaccompanied solo voice (any voice type) based on a winter theme. Entries must be submitted by January 4, 2025. Winners will be selected in January and will have their song performed by professional musicians live in a concert on March 1, 2025, as part of the Pitch Craft Collective season in Baltimore, MD.

What should I submit?
We prefer that songs be submitted as PDF files of scores, but we understand that for some, audio versions, JPEGs, or DOC files might be more appropriate depending on experience, ability, or age/category. Please submit the files that best represent your song and your ability to document it.

Participants should choose a winter-themed text, but please ensure that you have permission to use any text that is not in the public domain.

Participants are responsible for securing permissions for any text used and for providing proof of permission/public domain with their submissions.
